Rewriting Glee Plot lines - Part 1 Harmony
Hello Glee was a mess with it’s plotlines so I will try my best to rewrite them to give the plot a better send of or a character getting a good “goodbye”
Let Me Know What Storyline I Should Do Next
Today I’ll be trying to make Harmony a more memorable character
WARNING LONG POST
The Purple Piano Project 3x01 - Kurt and Rachel arrive at the NYADA Mixer Rachel: Okay, So I’ll plug in the boombox and you’ll set up the props and we’ll jump right in the number! Are sort of talented but yet inferior competition will just rip up their applications in fits of jealous rage. Kurt: You know, I kind of feel bad for them… Rachel: Me too. [Kurt and Rachel walk into the NYADA Mixer to shockingly see people who look just like them, As a couple of the NYADA Interests walk up to them.] Harmony: Hi, My name is Harmony Smythe What’s your name, where are you from and what are you credits? Rachel: Well I’m Rac- Pendleton: Im Pendleton Canada: Canada Gavroche: I’m Gavroche, Named after the feisty street urchin from Les Mis. Harmony: I know you totally recognize me, It’s because I’m the Gerber Baby, I’ve been acting since I was a fetus, literally, an ultrasound of me was featured on Murder She Wrote. [Says in an Intimidating and Threatening Manner] And you know… I think I recognize you… Rachel Berry, The Kiss That Missed. My team, The Unitards from Defiance, Ohio saw you do it live in the audience, embarrassing. Heard you got 12th, We got 11th. [She smiles and laughs] Rachel: That’s so- [Kurt cuts Rachel off] Kurt: Congratulations… [Harmony smiles instead of saying thank you] Harmony: Follow me to your seats [Harmony takes Rachel and Kurt to Their seats] Harmony: We’ve been meeting here each month since we were freshmen, literally. PLACES [She claps to get the NYADA Applicants attention] You’re just in time to see a little number we’ve been fussing around with, Thank god there was a bar mitzvah here on Saturday, and I convinced them NOT to strike the stage, so sit back, relax, and most importantly, enjoy. Rachel: Thank You Kurt: Oh my god Rachel: Okay just breathe, Just because they look like us and act like us doesn’t mean they’re better than us. Harmony and NYADA Applicants perform a mash-up of Anything Goes and Anything You Can Do Harmony: So, what did you think? Kurt: That was… [Kurt and Rachel are left speechless, Rachel looks at her wrist with no watch on it] Rachel: Oh, would you look at the time, We have to go… Curfew! Kurt: Oh… [Kurt and Rachel cry in the car as rain starts to pour down, Harmony comes to the car with an umbrella and knocks on their window signalling to roll it down] Harmony: Hi, I’m expecting to see you next month. We're gonna need more back-up dancers for me, I just wanted to give you both my head-shot and my list of credits. [Harmony hands Rachel her headshots as she passes them onto Kurt, and a list of credits that goes on and on, page after page, enough to be a whole dictionary] Rachel: Um, thank you. Harmony: See you next month! [She says as she walks away] Kurt: We’re doomed… Rachel: Actually, here it says she’s a sophomore. I don’t think we have anything to worry about. The First Time 3x05 (mentioned) - Kurt Meets Sebastian [Sometime after They Meet maybe an extended scene before they walk into the gay bar] Kurt: What’s his last name again? Blaine: Smythe, Uh why? Kurt: No… reason, Smythe, Oh my god. I think Sebastian is Harmony’s brother Blaine: There’s probably hundreds of people in Ohio with the last name Smythe that aren’t related, and Harmony? Isn’t she that super awesome amazingly talented girl you were talking about? Kurt: Yes, and it kinda makes sense, you can I guess see the resemblance, and they both just have that attitude about them. [Cut to Kurt talking to Sebastian in the bar] Kurt: Harmony, is she your sister? [Sebastian looks a little annoyed] Sebastian: Yeah, you know her? Kurt: Sorta [Blaine interrupts the conversation with a new topic] Mash Off 3x06 (not really mentioned) - Shelby and Will talk about their competition Shelby: Did you get your letter today? Will: Yeah about Sectionals? Figures we’d be up against you Shelby: Don't forget [Insert New Show Choir Team Here] Will: So lame… Hold Onto Sixteen 3x08 - The Basic Storyline [Will and Finn are in the choir room trying to resolve the set list problem and the members for sectionals problem] Finn: Mr. Schue maybe we need to concentrate on our performer problem before we set a setlist. I mean at least the Cheerios! can dance. We need star power, Did Rachel ever tell you about that Harmony girl? Will: Yeah, but do we even know where she is? Finn: She’ll be at the NYADA MIXER tonight, and it's only about a 40 minute drive from here. [Finn and Rachel walk into the NYADA Mixer] Finn: Wow this is a nice place. [Harmony walks up to Rachel and Finn] Harmony: Hi, Rachel. So glad you could make it back for the NYADA Mixer, [referring to Finn] Hi, I’m Harmony, Nice to meet you Finn Hudson. So I’m guessing that you didn’t come here to talk about NYADA. Rachel: Well first of all congratulations on your Unitards win at your Sectionals. [Harmony smiles] Finn: And we uh, have a special offer for you. Rachel: I can’t perform at Sectionals this week, due to um [Rachel clears her throat] reasons. And well- Finn: We need you to perform at our Sectionals. Harmony: Quite the striking deal, But the real question is why would I? Finn: Well uh- We could um- Rachel: Wouldn’t it be so much better to crush us at Nationals, instead of Regionals or even not at all? Harmony: Interesting, I’m in. Hope to crush you at Nationals. Rachel: Okay, We’ll just have to have the other New Directions see you perform a song. Harmony: You know, I have been fussing around with another song. [Cut to the auditorium where all The New Direction members are sitting in front row seats of the stage. Harmony and her team, The Unitards are on stage, preparing a number.] Will: Alright, Let’s see what you got. [Harmony and The Unitards perform “Buenos Aires” with an extensive choreography leaving the New Directions in total shock] Will: Wow. [They start to applaud as Harmony bows] [Sebastian is at the Lima Bean and Harmony walks to his table and sits down] Harmony: Hey Bro Sebastian: Harmony… Harmony: So I take it you’ll be watching me perform alongside, Blaine. [Sebastian Chuckles] Sebastian: Yeah, I’ll be there. You’ll be great. Harmony: He’s taken, you know. And I saw them together and they’re perfect for each other, don’t try and ruin anything. Sebastian: Well- Harmony: Stop focusing on Blaine, Instead, it’s time to turn up the mean dial. [Harmony gets up to leave] Harmony: See you at Sectionals. Sebastian: Yep. [Harmony is walking to the auditorium in the hall but Kurt stops her to talk] Kurt: Harmony, Hi. I thought you were really great up there singing Buenos Aires. [Harmony smiles] Kurt: I just wanted to ask, if you’re a sophomore why are you looking into NYADA? Harmony: I’m graduating early. Yeah turns out I’m not only really great in music, but in Math, Science, and Spanish too. I hope I’ll see you in college. [Harmony walks away] Kurt: Yeah, I hope I see me too. [Cut to rehearsal in the choir room, Blaine shows the New Directions the spin dance.] Harmony: Sorry, Anderson. That’s about the worst thing I’ve seen in my entire life. Blaine: Oh I’m sorry I don’t see you helping around here. Harmony: I’m helping by not doing that stupid dance. Blaine: It’s not stupid, it’s what we need to win. Of course you wouldn’t know anything about backup dancing because you’ve never done it before. Harmony: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Blaine: It means that I’m not a self centered witch. [Harmony and Blaine almost start to fight before Will breaks them up] Blaine: Forget it. [Blaine storms out of rehearsal] [When the New Directions perform, Harmony solos “ABC” as the crowd goes wild over the song, and after they win, Harmony shakes hands with Blaine. Later Harmony performs “We Are Young” with the New Directions] Extraordinary Merry Christmas 3x09 - loosely mentioned [Takes place somewhere idk] Santana: Yeah, since that Harmony girl left, we have to worry about her and her Unitards, The Warblers, and Vocal Adrenaline. Prom-A-Saurus 3x19 - loosely mentioned [happens somewhere again idk] Rachel: Harmony is calling again, probably to gloat about her NYADA Audition being a success. [She declines the call] Nationals 3x21 - Seen at Nationals [Harmony and her Unitards replace The Portland Scale Blazers in the competition singing “Whatever Song Ryan Murphy chose” and getting third place, looking kind of disappointed but as she leaves she wishes good luck to The New Directions] And Assuming she doesn’t come back for Season 4 this is the last we see of her.
Do you know of more cities, if so, please post it, so we can keep track of it. Some of the lawless behavior ( in no particular order ) if you have a link to additional lawlessness, please post it below
Updates on the Floyd Issue, which can no longer be claimed as the reason for the riots, since the officer was arrested yesterday, before the above riots took place, as well as preliminary findings in the autopsy were released:
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman on Friday announced murder and manslaughter charges that accuse a fired Minneapolis police officer of killing George Floyd — an act caught on video and seen around the world, sparking days of violent demonstrations across the Twin Cities. Derek Chauvin, 44, was arrested late Friday morning and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter four days after he pinned his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes Monday at the intersection of E. 38th Street and Chicago Avenue as the unarmed and handcuffed man told him he couldn’t breathe.
New deaths by county: 93 F Kenton, 48 M Jefferson, 65 F Jefferson, 73 M Jefferson, 88 M Warren, 90 M Bullitt, 83 F Hopkins, 84 M Warren, 94 F Jefferson
One last update today, as of 4pm, we are revising guidance on our bars and restaurants, as it pertains to their curfew to add an hour for their operations and recognition that especially with sports coming back, that some of the games can now go until 11. So as of today the last call last service I will move from 10pm to 11pm and the facility needs to be closed by midnight- that gives people time to finish up and to get out and to make sure that it's being done safely. That was a specific request from those in the restaurant industry, we thought it was reasonable. But again, let's make sure that whether you're in that industry or any other that has some rules and regulations that you're trying to do it right, that we're not trying to find a way to get around it. That just not only hurts you and your facility and the people that come to it but it hurts everybody around as well.
I just want to see if he could give a quick update on unemployment numbers, kind of where are we sitting at? -- These are the initial claims that are remaining in different months, not claims filed in later months that asked for a couple days: 1,681 in March. 9,304 in April. These were the initial ones, again, there's later pandemic ones and ones that are filed. 12,145 in May, 10,077 in June, 9,663 in July, and 8,580 in August. Now, those do not include ones that may be filed the next month or even the month after that, that then asked for days that are in that, they also don't include people who may have been denied but then apply for pandemic. We got all those numbers we can get to you too.
A lot of people have questions about that extra $400 people saying they have not received it, what’s the update? -- So we were only able to finally get the system set up after the approvals and the rest to begin processing the extra $400 for the 110,000, I think that's the right number of individuals that qualify for it, at the very end of last week. So processing through the weekend, people ought to start seeing that here at the first of this week.
-- We expect those payments to begin going out. We don't expect them all to go out at the same time, but we expect given the time that we put into it for those to not be delayed. Now, there may be people who think they qualify for it that don't, and we may have to have communications there. There may be people, potentially, they've been marked as not qualifying for it that do and we'll have to work through all that, but I think for the vast majority those dollars are going to get out and get out, hopefully, starting this week. Hopefully a lot of it goes out this week,
You and Dr. Stack both have talked about how important it is to get flu shots this year. But there are countries concerned about a flu vaccine shortage because so many people are concerned about COVID and the flu. So I was wondering if you had heard about a shortage here in the US? -- The question is have we heard about any shortage in flu vaccines here in Kentucky. The answer is no, and get your flu shot, absolutely get your flu shot. If when we look at our incident map, and I don't know if Greg can put it up, if we want to keep it yellow, if we want to keep it green, if we don't want to have a flu season that's bad at the same time as having COVID because that could be very, very bad then make sure you get your flu shot.
Following up on the question about police reform, what about body cameras for the KSP? -- The question is on body cameras for the Kentucky State Police, it's a good question. It's something that we've got to look at. I know that there have been different issues in the past that relate to the costs but as we are- have that expectation more and more in law enforcement we can’t- we've got to look within to so that's one thing to look at and to analyze.
Was cost an issue? -- So the last time, I think was about four years ago, that it was addressed, it was the cost, not of the cameras, but of the server and the storage that created the major issue there.
Good afternoon, it is 4 o'clock on this Yes, on this Tuesday afternoon. I have some pieces of good news today and then we will jump into our report. I will start by telling you one of the most exciting things about our COVID report is today we are now under a 4% positivity rate. That is moving in the right direction at a time when we are giving guidance, especially to school systems, about how to at least get back to a hybrid model starting on September 28th. But first a number of really important things going on in the state. We'll start with our fast 4 at 4.
The first is continued local government grants to deal with the coronavirus. We are announcing additional reimbursements for our hard working local governments. Yesterday we announced more than $3.8 million more for Northern Kentucky. Today, we're announcing final approval of more than $7 million to 20 local governments in central Kentucky. They include Bourbon, Clark, Clinton, Marion, and Russell counties and Burnside, Graymoor-DevonDale, Harrodsburg, Hillview, Lancaster, Mount Washington, Newcastle, New Haven, Nicholasville, Paris, Shepherdsville, Simpsonville. Versailles, West Buechel, and Whitesville. This funding will be used to, again, help make these governments whole; they have been working hard to fight COVID-19, we truly appreciate their work. We're going to continue to announce these as they roll out and encourage local governments to get your applications in, we have that $300 million pool. We want to make sure that you get reimbursements on your expenses.
All right. This next one is also really exciting. It's exciting because we've been talking a lot about how we are investing in infrastructure, right now in the midst of COVID, so that when COVID is over we don't again just just limp forward, or walk forward, we run into our future. So much of our jobs of the future can be based on investments right now. Do we have the roads? Do we have the water? Do we have the broadband? Do we have the natural gas hookups? All the infrastructure that's needed to bring jobs to various places. So today we're announcing what are called BUILD grants (better utilizing investments to leverage development). Our announcement is about $38.1 million in three grants for transportation projects in the city of Corbin, in Kenton County, and a joint project in Logan and Todd counties. We're making these investments that will return a direct benefit to these communities now, in terms of the jobs that helped put together these projects and work on them but also beyond. The kind of investments that helped grow our economy and help us create a better Kentucky. So in Corbin, the grant is $15 million towards widening a section of US-25 west from two lanes to five lanes with turn lanes between KY-727 on the Corbin bypass. It's going to reduce congestion and improve traffic and freight movement and access to I-75. You know you hear a lot of talk about having four lane roads and the importance of them, especially to logistics and manufacturing. This is going to open up Corbin even more to future investments. Logan and Todd counties $13.5 million towards the replacement of four bridges on US-79 between Russellville and Guthrie. Wider bridges facilitate shipments of aluminum, in which that area is a leader, from Novelis in Guthrie and Logan aluminum in Russellville. These are projects that we even talked about in the transportation budget when we were putting it together, that helped these companies grow that keep them in Kentucky. We have an enormous aluminum industry in Kentucky and we continue to get other manufacturers or suppliers moving to the area because of these investments and because of these companies. Finally, Kenton County is getting $9.6M towards the improvement of 1.5 miles on their KY-536 corridor, the west end of the project connects to KY-536 Interchange at I-71, and I-75, again adds capacity and improve safety for the rural communities of Kenton County. You know those are two major investments that we're talking about today. One helps keep our counties and our cities healthy, fighting the Coronavirus, and whole, so that we can move out of this and the second continues what I think are a string, and a very large string, of investments that we're making an infrastructure right now for a better future.
We talk each day about the importance of masks and I'm going to talk about this one in a minute. About how the number one thing you can do to fight COVID-19 is wear one of these and encourage other people to wear one. One of the ways that you can do that is our Mask Up KY campaign and by posting on social media which right now needs positive posts, more than ever, at a time when I'm worried it's broken. It needs your positivity. And so we like recognizing each day, some of the best posts of Mask Up KY.
Remember to post to Social Media! Let’s show our fellow Kentuckians positive vibes- Hashtags: #MaskUpKY#TeamKentucky #TogetherKY #Patriot #HealthyAtHome #HealthyAtWork #HealthyAtSchool
Okay, and in David's honor today, we're recognizing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Today I want to support and recognize a special group of individuals in Kentucky. Who are some of the most vulnerable in our fight against COVID-19. The special group is our state's youngest cancer fighters. This month and every September we stand in solidarity with these children and their families during this month Childhood Cancer Awareness Month childhood cancer is the number one cause of death by disease for kids in our state. In our country and around the world. Even if a child survives, many kids will face life changing side effects from their treatments, one in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Nearly 15,000 every year. In our state, we rank a staggering fourth- fourth in the country of children diagnosed with pediatric brain tumors. In Kentucky we don't believe those numbers are okay. As a parent, that is not acceptable and as governor, we've got to do better.
So, as governor in partnership with our state legislators we've been intentional about leading the fight in the nation in specific funding for childhood cancer research. We've been doing that right here in the Commonwealth. That's been based on leadership that started before me and we greatly appreciate that. I'm just glad that I have the opportunity to add to those voices, supporting for, and pushing these funds to make sure that we can get some of the improvement and better outcomes that our families desperately deserve. Due to the Kentucky pediatric cancer research fund we’re able to give all Kentucky children access to less toxic immunotherapy for leukemia and solid tumors, new treatments in Ewing sarcoma, and earlier and less invasive diagnostics for relapsed leukemia. We've also studied the psychosocial impacts of childhood cancer diagnosis for the patient, siblings, and family. And through the Kentucky cancer registry, we are leading research to determine why more Kentucky children are diagnosed with pediatric brain tumors in certain parts of the state than others. Remember, we all count and if one part of our state is experiencing more trauma than the rest, we got to do something about that. So that leads me now to recognize my good friend David Turner, Jr. David's an inspiration to me, as he continues to show tremendous strength as he battles DIPG, a type of brain tumor, with no known cure. Let's watch a message from David today.
Video: Hi, my name is David and I have cancer. Hi, my name is Aiden, and I'm David’s cousin and best friend. Childhood Cancer is important to us. We need your help to spread awareness. Because kids get cancer too.
So this is David's mask. I've worn another one that he's made before, but this is one that he and his family asked for us to wear, and to promote to make sure that we are recognizing this month, and that we are masking up to protect David and kids like him. Today I wear my mask for David and every other child suffering from cancer that need us to ensure that they don't have to battle a virus while dealing with the condition that they are already fighting, let's do our part. In honor of David, and all of Kentucky children battling cancer now, our survivors, and their families, I have signed a state proclamation for September as childhood cancer awareness month in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I’m sending the pen I used to sign it back to David Jr. and his cousin, whom we met there.
Alright, with that I'm going to ask Secretary Friedlander to give two updates from CHFS, again both good news, then we will have our COVID report have one update on restaurants and bars, and then open it up to questions.
(Sec Friedlander takes over) Thank you Governor. Just to be clear, I wear my mask for my 90 year old mother. Today I have some good news. I've spoken to the folks who are watching this before about the Meals on Wheels program in the Department for Aging and Independent Living. That program since the beginning of the pandemic has served over almost 1.8 million meals to needy Kentuckians. So, these programs are important. We serve between 73,000 and 75,000 meals a week to needy seniors. So this is an important life lifeline for those seniors. This is perhaps their one meal a day, perhaps their chance at socialization and this grant relates to that. This grant is a grant for emergency preparedness and September is National Preparedness Month and we received a grant of almost a million dollars: $999,999. I kid you not- somebody donate $1 to any of your local senior centers. And what this grant does is it helps us learn. In Kentucky, this is an emergency preparedness grant. And we often have the emergencies that we normally think about in Kentucky: tornadoes, floods, ice storms, and things of that nature. So what this grant helps us do is it helps our senior centers prepare for those times when there are those localized disasters to make sure that there's a plan in place for seniors to get meals. This plan will help us across the Commonwealth, partner with the aging and independent living to be able to use the Administration for Community Living, to allow these funds to for us to better prepare for emergencies. To make sure during those emergencies our seniors get meals. And as always with meals on wheels, if you can volunteer at your senior center, please do. If you need a meal, you know a senior that needs a meal, contact your local Senior Center. There is no waiting list right now. So you, if you know a senior that needs Meals on Wheels, please reach out to your local Senior Center, and if you can help, please volunteer.
The next grant relates to something that we have seen across the Commonwealth that has been another negative impact from COVID. We have seen, and this grant addresses, substance use programs and services. This is a $35.4 million grant, it's called the State Opioid Response Grant, and it builds upon what I think I have tried to address before, it's called the KORE program. This KORE program is run by the Department for Behavioral Health Services, and this grant will help us provide more evidence-based services. We've already served over 110,000 people with Recovery Services. We've served 130,000 youths in schools to help stop and not begin addiction issues. And addiction, remember is a complex brain disorder. So what this grant will do, it will help us with more medication assisted treatment, it will help us find more narcan, it will help us fund more programs for recovery services, and it will now for the first time, allow us to address those things that we see beyond the opioid epidemic, where we see methamphetamines, and those kinds of things, this grant now will not just be focused on opioids, but will be focused on other drugs and drug usage, that we can begin to address in our community. So this grant, the governor said earlier, the KORE program began under the previous administration. This is something that has been good, has been solid, and we are building upon it, and I'm happy to be in partnership with others across the Commonwealth, our service providers, who have really responded well and, and this is a much needed grant, as we address these issues in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
(Governor Beshear takes over) We know in the short term, we've got to defeat COVID, but we also know in the longer term we've got to defeat addiction. We've got to help our people out of this other crisis. And it's so many people out there are suffering, and much of the future of our state will depend on how many people, we not only keep healthy during COVID, but we keep healthy when we emerge from it. When we keep out of the grasp of addiction or we can pull out of the grasp of addiction and help rebuild those lives. Let's remember those suffering from addiction aren't meant and shouldn't be judged. They should be helped. They are people's children, they are people's parents, and we need them to get better and we need to help them get better.
a lot of counties with nine or eight and for some of those counties that may well be a jump. Remember you can also go to the website and look at the incident map that is being provided for everyone's information but also ultimately to help make decisions on a county level and for schools, and that classifies counties from green to thankfully you're not seeing that many cases right now but no, it can happen pretty quickly to yellow, which means they're at a higher level to orange, which you ought to be really concerned when it hits orange to read, which means a lot of steps at that point, need to be taken
Total tests conducted: 1,068,026 (PCR: 1,000,301, Serology: 49,842)

New deaths by county: 93 F Kenton, 48 M Jefferson, 65 F Jefferson, 73 M Jefferson, 88 M Warren, 90 M Bullitt, 83 F Hopkins, 84 M Warren, 94 F Jefferson
All losses are a loss for Kentucky. Let’s light those houses up green and let’s ring those bells at 10am. This is a reminder that we are thinking of the Kentuckians we’ve lost, their families, and their communities. It’s the color of compassion and renewal as their souls move from their bodies to a better place.

We got a packed house in here tonight we started over here yesterday so start with Nick today.
QUESTIONS
I just want to see if he could give a quick update on unemployment numbers, kind of where are we sitting at? -- I'll ask my group to get the printout for me. I know we sent over 700 of the determination letters yesterday, which is our largest single-day of those most complicated cases. I believe we're under 2,000 from March, at this point, but let me get those and we'll read them out in full to you. I believe that there are about- but this goes all the way up through the end of August, and we're only a couple weeks into September, but about 80,000 claims that have been filed up through August 31st, again, if there are a lot of August claims there hadn't been a lot of time to deal with them that that are still pending but over, I mean, over a million claims that we have been through, have been able to act upon and billions of dollars paid out.
And to give an update on the first question that was asked, these are the initial claims that are remaining in different months, not claims filed in later months that asked for a couple days. 1,681 in March.
What are your thoughts on the settlement between the city and Breonna Taylor’s family? -- So I learned the details on the settlement between the city of Louisville and Breonna Taylor’s family the same way everybody else did- by watching- at least I was able to watch part of the news conference. Two things that I'd mentioned one is a settlement is an agreement and that means both the city of Louisville and Breonna Taylor's family agreed that this is a positive step, at least in part, that both agreed was a right step to take. The other is, it's not done without legal counsel, the county attorney in Jefferson County has been a prosecutor, has been a judge, has been a trial attorney, and he has significant experience. I believe that what the city said is that they entered those negotiations because they thought it was the right thing to do and because they care. And I think that the family acknowledged that it was a step that shows that the city does care. Now I know that there are still other pieces, other issues that are out there, that people are awaiting, but those are my thoughts at least having seen it about an hour, an hour and a half ago.
There's a question here about Dr Stack and his presentation said schools are required to report the learning format that infected students were studying in (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) but he said the information won't be on the dashboard. Why is that? -- I believe it has to do with how much information on an individual student that you provide so that the student themselves cannot be personally identified. What you try to do is provide enough information to allow everybody to make the best decisions possible, but the school, providing updates to their parents have the opportunity to provide some of that information, certainly the contact tracing is very different, depending on it. Remember our dashboards, this is just a start. And there is a limit on how much information you can get on a dashboard before it doesn't become the dashboard, it becomes a really long report that we put out.
President Trump issued an executive order over the weekend that deals with drug companies. I was just wondering, especially, what government agencies pay for drugs and I was wondering if there's been any development yet to assess what that might mean to KY’s Medicaid/Medicare? -- So the question is about an executive order the President signed on pharmaceutical prices, and what it might mean to the Medicaid program or others. We have not gotten any information that would suggest any amount of savings. I will say that pharmaceutical pricing is out of control. You look at the jumps year over year over a year, and people cannot keep up nor can the government. This is a part of our healthcare system that to me is broken, and there needs to be some serious and significant action on it. We don't see some of these giant increases in other countries, and we shouldn't be taken advantage of. Now, we got pharmaceutical companies out there doing great work on a vaccine and we got pharmaceutical companies out there that are creating drugs that help us live longer and I know that they have costs that go into them. But what people have to pay for insulin, for instance, is outrageous, just absolutely outrageous. And there is, I mean, the company should get a profit for when they make these things but we cannot ask people to pay what they are being charged and I will welcome any help to get there. As attorney general, I tried to take direct action on it. I know there is still a 50 state investigation on generic pharmaceutical pricing, and whether there are antitrust actions occurring, I believe that there are. But again, I mean we're really focused on COVID and some things we do are paused, but in the long term, that's an area in providing health care, affordable health care for everybody, that we're gonna have to see some real changes, too.
(Inaudible)...certain policing reforms like an extra approval process, or search warrants, or drug testing increased for officers involved in the shooting? Have you looked at any reforms that might be part of the settlement? -- The question is on the settlement between the city of Louisville and Breonna Taylor's estate, I think, is how it's set up. There are certain reforms, you could call them improvements, to policing that are included. Some deal with how warrants are- I guess it's not how they're issued they're still issued by a judge, but the approval process that goes into them. I think that there are certainly areas of improvement, some may be these, some may be others that we can and should talk about on the statewide level. And I think that we would see support from multiple sectors. In law enforcement those calling for changes in, I think, the process that go into warrants, the training of who issues certain types of warrants, the use of force. You know, in Kentucky, we don't authorize chokeholds, that's not something that is taught to our law enforcement. You know, I think that there is, I think that there is a lot of ground, in which there can be discussions about improvement, and I think that our law enforcement would be one of the first to say if there are areas that, that there is grounds for discussion, about doing things better we all we all want to improve.
29 (M) Divorced 27 (F) a year ago and I feel great
Throwaway because I do not know who of my friends or family browse reddit. I, a 29 male, divorced my now 27 year old female a year ago and I am feeling great. Let's start from the beginning. I live in NY and and have so all my life. I went to school here, both HS, undergrad and graduate, and once I got my MBA and CPA, I decided that it was high time I settle down and fine someone to be with forever. That someone was my cousin's wife's sister, who I was infatuated with. Let's call her Courtney. Courtney and I were really close ever since my cousin, Albert, began dating Courtney's sister Ashley in and around 2011-2012. Albert and I are very close and grew up together, are only three years apart, and are practically brothers. Albert married Ashely in 2013 where I was the best man and Courtney was the maid of honor. On and off Courtney and I talked, made out, and teased having relationships, however, I always put my schooling first and I was still hung up on an ex by the name of Paula, who I dated long distance for about 2-3 years on and off. Paula is a mtf transwoman, a lot of my story revolves around Paula and my relationship and how it impacted my relationship with Courtney. After I got my CPA, and had a good job with an accounting firm, and after a slew of failed relationships, I decided to try and seriously date Courtney. She was always there, and always supportive and always loving. I noticed a lot of what she did and how she treated me and I believed we had come to a good place together to begin dating. On Christmas eve of 2017 we started dating. Courtney knew everything about me. How I struggled with my sexuality throughout college, how I dated and hooked up with both men, women, and transwomen, how I considered to be pansexual, and just a whole slew of things. Courtney had seriously dated women in the passed, but because of conflicts she had with her family and her partners, those did not last too long. Neither of us had any qualms about our sexuality, our previous partners, and our previous lives, and accepted one another (seemingly) as we were. Except for a few hiccups, our relationship was good and strong and I had a lot of good feelings toward Courtney. I even loved Courtney and about six months in I told her as much and she reciprocated the feelings. It was great, and in the summer of 2018 while we were on a trip with our family, I proposed to her and she said yes! Which as great. We had planned to have a big wedding, but because of pressures from the outside and within, we opted for a smaller wedding, inviting a few close friends and family and putting our money into something more important, a house. It was good for the first seven months, until it wasn't. Throughout the relationship and throughout our seven months of marriage Paula had come back into the picture. Paula lives a world away, so she returned in the guise of just texting and very infrequent calls and interactions. We stayed in touch as best as we could, but Paula would always find an excuse to cut contact for weeks at a time. First, it was just the business of life, which I can understand because I have done the same to others. I knew how important getting your crap together is and I never faulted Paula for doing that. I also never considered dating Paula again because I stopped trusting in long distance relationships after her and I ended things officially in 2012. Paula and I became best of friends, confiding in one another and even loving one another, but knowing that we could not truly be together because of the distance. I gave up on that prospect years ago, however, I believe Paula always held out hope that we would be together. Mainly because of how upset she got when I began dating Courtney and when I told her about our engagement. She would go NC for a long time after these milestones in my life, but she would always try to reconnect after not talking for months or years at end. Here is where I made the first of many mistakes in my relationship. I was the one who messed up and I am not proud of it at all. While I loved Courtney, I also loved the attention and validation of Paula and the connection we had. It was then I began an emotional affair with Paula. While our talks and texts were infrequent, they were riddled with an underlying intimacy that I did not share with Courtney. This caused me, per Courtney's confession, to be distant and not really available for Courtney. Further, I would usually choose pornography over sex with my ex wife and that caused a lot of strain in my relationship with her. We had a lot of problems with sex because I was trying to be a good Christian boy (Literally), and struggled with the concept of pre-marital sex as I wanted to do everything "right." Truth is, I wasn't doing everything right and my emotional cheating and preference of pornography was hurting my marriage and my relationship with my ex wife. Courtney always harbored feelings of doubt in my feelings and believed that I would leave her for another transwoman. I had been with quite a few transwomen in the past, and had relationships, fwbs, and hookups with them, and Courtney thought I would always choose a transwoman over her. Even though I assured her that was not the truth, I continued to keep the existence of my emotional affair with Paula secret from Courtney. But, the universe always has a way of revealing the truth and trust me, the truth was revealed terribly. About seven months into our marriage, after I got home from a bachelor party and we were playing with our new cat and babysitting our friends daughter, a text came through from Paula on my phone. A text that Courtney saw. A text that was singular as I had been deleting my texts with Paula in fear of Courtney finding out. She saw it. She did not even speak to me. She just left the house. This began the almost year and half drama of my divorce. I immediately recognized that I made the wrong decision. I say decision, because I know I chose to have this emotional affair, and chose to lie and be deceitful to my ex wife. It has been a hard thing to confront, but I feel that after all that I have read and seen on these subreddits I have to confront the truth about myself. I am a cheater. I take no pride in that and while I used to abhor part of myself because of it, I know all I can do is try to be better every day. After the revelation of my emotional affair, I cut contact with Paula, at least for the time being, and tried to work on myself. I confessed about my emotional affair, I confessed about my addiction to pornography, I did everything I thought I needed to do in order to make everything right. I did individual counseling, I want to Sex Addicts Anonymous, and I gave my ex wife the freedom to do what she wanted and not limit her. She saw through all that I was doing. That my changes were not genuine, but instead just to get her back. That I wasn't implementing these changes to be a better person, just to get the person I had lost back, and she was not falling for it. Looking back now, I do not think I would have fell for it either. Courtney and I had long conversations, arguments, crying, attempts a reconciliation, reconciliatory sex (which usually ended with her crying and kicking me out), a lot of things, and none of it worked. Eventually, she never wanted to be home because she believed all that I built and showed was fake. She did not want to have any part of it. The only way that she would remain part of the household is if I allowed her friend to live with her. Her friend, lets call her Jessica, had a kid, and was trying to move out of her Mom's place. She had no place to stay, and Courtney wanted her to be at the home to help her cope and deal with shit. After consultation with many people, I decided to say no. No because, it just did not feel right and because I was starting to set boundaries for myself and I wanted to start to set boundaries for our marriage to potentially reconcile. When I said no, she threatened to move out and informed me that she would eventually move out, and that if I continue to say no to Jessica moving in, she would most certainly move out. The conversation ended their with no hope to an end. Thereafter, that night in fact, she came home late with friends. They hung out in the back of my house, smoked, drank, and then Courtney came to my room and we were intimate. The next mourning we were intimate as well, and I was feeling pretty good because it seemed like I satisfied her well and things seemed like they would take a turn for the better. As I got dressed for work and began leaving, I saw someone sleeping on my couch. It was Jessica, the very person I said that was not allowed to live in our house. I was livid. Livid because it was a slap in the face and very disrespectful to not heed a boundary. Now, I know what you are thinking, "OP why should she respect you, when you disrespected her by your emotional affair and your choosing of pornography over her?" That is a valid question, and the truth of the matter is I believed we were both trying to move on and do better and be better and I believed that required some effort on both of our parts. I broke vows, of course and that is nothing to scoff at, but I also thought it was high time we both tried to do better. Plus, it was my house (I owned it at the time), and having someone like Jessica and her minor child stay over, would do nothing, but tarnish an already difficult situation. That day, I went to work livid. I did not know what to do or what to say. So, what I did was text her a lengthy text telling her off, telling how she was not contributing to working on us. How all she wanted to do was get away, hang out, drink and smoke and not actually sit down and figure our crap out. How she did not want to seek out advice, or help for the trauma I put her through. How I would not speak with her or be about her, unless she wanted to talk about us and our stuff. How I would begin to set definitive boundaries on us moving forward. Writing this now, makes me realize how I should have been a little more tactful in my approach and how I should have told this stuff to her face to face. The truth is, I was scared to confront her face to face on anything substantive. Our arguments usually made me feel less than. Every time I would say something, I would always be interrupted with a slight jab at me, what I did, what I was doing, an insult, disrespect, and just vitriol. It wore me down and made me feel less than and I felt like I could not and would not get through to her. The only way to get through to her, was through text. And so that is what I did. I stuck to my guns, and did not speak to her and left it at that for her to make a decision as to us. I wanted us to work hard and long and do what was right to give reconciliation a fighting chance. When I came home to get some stuff, she tried to speak to me, she tried to trap me in my office, she was doing everything she could to turn everything around. I was not having it. I noticed that she had cleaned the house, was working on stuff...and Jessica was there, which I did not care for. Eventually, without any harm to either of us, I was able to leave. It was then she began lashing out. She called everyone I and her knew, asking where I was, what I was doing, where I was staying, imploring them that I talk with her. I would not. After a few days of this, she eventually decided to put me and my life on blast. She had posted on facebook about how I had been with transwomen in the past, how I emotionally cheated with a transwoman, and how our marriage was broken because of what I did. It was a cry for help and she believed I would respond in one way or another to it, but I did not. I did not have facebook at the time, and did not care for it. A lot of people commented, some defending me, some attacking, some showing surprise or concern. I did not care and I was in a relatively good place. Later that week, she left the house, and in an effort to insure that her friend Jessica did not gain access to the house, I changed the locks, and took our cat to take care of because she was home alone and did not want our cat to suffer any harm. I called Courtney that day and asked if we would be able to talk. She did not want to talk then and some tentative plans were made for the following day to speak. Thereafter, I went back to my parents and woke up the next day to go to my house to find it in shambles. Things destroyed, doors broken, the fridge unplugged, clothes destroyed, shoes destroyed, a bottle of wine that was gifted to me half drunk, and a note from Courtney basically saying we would not speak until she is ready. That she would net let me dictate when we would and would not speak. I was broken when I saw this. I was in shambles. I asked neighbors if they saw what happened and no one knew of anything. I wanted to call the police, but I held my tongue and let it be. I later found out that she broke into the house, trashed the place when she found I had taken the cat and left to do what she wanted wherever she wanted. That was that. I was broken. Is this toxic enough for you yet? Yea, its not over. I was toxic, which spurned her to be toxic, and which spurned me to be even more toxic, and spurned her to be even more toxic. It was a vicious and terrible cycle that continued on and on and on. I was a broken man and I knew it was all my fault. I had broken my marriage and there was no hope. I continued at counseling, I continued at SAA, I continued to live with my parents. I gave up my house and just decided to try and focus on myself. Until about a month later where Albert and Ashely were having a gender reveal. I being the closest cousin needed to be there and so I was. I languished the fact that she would be there, and was continually on the lookout for her. I was stressed, I had started smoking again, and I just was a mess. When she finally came, she had dressed exactly how I liked and how I wanted. Nails painted white, hoop earrings, a dress showing off her legs, sandals, and the like, and I was a mess. People implored me to stay, but I could not. I said I had to use the bathroom, and used that as a chance to leave. I left and did another dick move and I canceled her phone, because why the hell not. It was that situation that pushed us into a position to begin talking again. Well, first and argument about me canceling her phone and pressuring me to turn her phone back on because she was using it for work. I relented, turned her phone back on and then we talked some more and set a time and date to begin talking again and to have a conversation. We did and boy that was a long day. We went to some beach, we smoked, we spoke on serious things and what we wanted to do, and we ultimately decided to try and work things out in a good way. From there on, things got better. A lot better. I was NC with Paula for awhile, I had a little control over my sex addiction and porn addiction. I was trying to be the best and do the best I could. We even went on a vacation to Mexico and it seemed to better our relationship and have us come closer. She ended up getting an apartment, I ended up buying her a new car as the old one got repo'd and things starting looking up. Until they did not anymore. In my SAA groups and through my counselor, I realized that I had no concept of boundaries and would let Courtney do and be as she pleased, and never set up any boundaries for friends and family. I slowly started to incorporate the word "No" when I was asked for something and to do something. I limited giving her money to necessities, like food, or rent, or something to help her animals, and I denied her money when asking for weed or alcohol. She did not like that. Not...one...bit. As I got more secure in my "No's" she became more upset, believing that because of our marriage and because of my infidelity, I owed everything that I had. This was around the time I stopped trying to "buy" her back with things and actions, and started to develop into the true and genuine me. I wavered back and forth with the concept of boundaries and it was difficult to deal with. In the time of our separation she would go out a lot and even on one occasion slept with someone else, which instead of ending everything then and there, I stood by her. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I thought I deserved that for the emotional cheating I had done. Eventually, the idea of boundaries whittled away to nothing. She had totalled her car, and I was out of a job after being fired and had no use really for my car. I let her use it for the time being. I would pay for the gas and the insurance, and she had a free car to use whenever she wanted. I was also helping pay for her rent, for food, for fun, and even paid for a vacation to Australia. A vacation where I went and fully witnessed how toxic things had gotten. During the vacation, anytime I would say no, or go against what she wanted, I was met with verbal abuse, insults. It was a stressful vacation because I did not have enough money really to partake in the vacation and was basically strapped for cash the entire time. Thankfully, it ended with us getting back to the states fine, but with me realizing that the marriage was practically over. I asked for a break, which she obliged begrudgingly and was heartbroken over, and then I decided to start upping the boundaries on my end to feel more secure. As the months progressed, I realized how she was taking advantage of me and my situation. Thankfully, I had gotten a government job, was doing great and making good money. She would ask me for money and I would oblige, but then the money she would earn would go to booze and drugs without any care or concern for my wallet. I was practically broke because of all I had to do for her. I would only have access to MY car on the weekends because of our work schedules, and it would only be for about 8 hours per day. She would leave my car a filthy mess each time I would get it back and I would be forced to spend the better part of an hour cleaning up her crap. On several occassions she forgot to pick me up from work, or bring me to work and that caused others to have to help me out. Thankfully, I worked close to my cousin Albert and it was not really too big of an issue, but it was the principle of it all. Eventually, I realized that I needed to start setting hard and fast boundaries and I needed to stick to them no matter the blowback. I told her that if I found out she was using her money for drugs and alcohol that I would not help her out. I also told her that she must have my car back at my parents place no latter than 9 pm, for me to bring her back home and take possession of the car. In the mornings I would hand off the car to her for her work and she would drop me off at my job. THis was in the long time making. We are close to the end and to the divorce. Trust me. She abided by the boundaries for about a day or two, until one day I saw that she had not contacted me about dropping off the car. 9 pm came and went she was still not at my parents house. I called her, she yelled at me that she was out with friends, and then she hung up. I waited. And waited. And waited. Then 930 came and she finally pulled up. I had to drive her and her friend back home, which I did and was content on not bringing up how late she was. Thereafter, she laughed at me while I was driving and someone flashed their lights at me causing me to change lanes and let them pass. When she laughed, the anger in me grew everthemore and I dropped her friend off. When her friend left the car, in the calmest and most reasonable voice I could muster I asked her "How do you think its appropriate that you bring my car back to my parents place so late?" This started a new argument. She told me that she did not think the 9 pm schedule was a hard and fast rule, she told me that she did not know. She told me that I was interferring with her life. I tried to show her the texts telling her that I told her 9 pm was the time she must drop off my car and she got upset that I was showing her receipts. Thereafter, our argument escalated into our personal stuff, she told me that as long as we are married everything I have is hers, my money, my car, my everything. I asked her sarcastically, "So deserve this stuff because you got your MBA? You got your CPA? You got a cushy government job?" It did not help the situation. She stayed in my car and told me that she was sleeping at my place tonight because she did not believe I would come in the morning to pick her up for work and I would leave her in a crappy situation. Now, I am not proud of what I did next, but it was the only thing I could think of to retaliate and get her out of the car. She had a budding insecurity that I preferred transwomen, and that I was actually gay, given my previous relationships with transwomen, and Paula and the pornography I watched. After arguing for a bit and taking a few jabs at each other I told her "I am gay, and I prefer transwomen!" Well, I yelled at her that and that was that. She left the car and we did not speak for the rest of the night. Toxic enough for you yet? No. Almost done. The following morning as I was eating breakfast, I get a call from her, groggy and sounding like she cried most of the, asking if I was going to get her. I begrudgingly obliged, and went off to pick her up and her dog as she wanted to take him for a walk, whereupon I reiterated the boundaries and the curfew. She did not like that at all. She would not agree to it. She said that I was interferring with her life and that she needed the car for what she needed it for. I told her the car was only for work and essential things, like getting food or doctors trips, or vet trips. She would not agree, and then I said, well then I am not allowing you to use my car after you are done with work. The car must be back at my place at 5 pm. She grew furious and she took the keys out of the ignition of my car while I was driving on the highway. She messed with the transmission and thankfully I took the keys back before getting into an accident. I got off an exit and she did the same thing. The dog was going crazy barking and causing a big fuss. I parked the car, got the keys back and tried to turn on the car to no avail. The ignition was broken and that was that. The dog did not calm down and by this time it was on my lap barking and going crazy. I threw the dog off (I feel terrible about this because the dog was such a good boy and did not deserve this), not far, just to her seat and she yelled at me for throwing my dog and punched in the face. I did not register what happened. I was just trying to get my car to work again. It did not and I needed to get a tow. She said she did not care that me not having a car means she would have no transportation, and she began leaving. I told her then and there to take all of her crap and get out because I would never speak to or see her again. Eventually my mother came and helped me out to get my car to where it needed and she let me use her car for the time being. That punch in the face opened up my eyes and cleared the cobwebs. I saw that I was being used, being abused, and we were in such a toxic and terrible relationship that there was no coming back. That was my first day of freedom and almost 2 years. The following days found me cutting off her phone (not fully, but instead giving her time to take over her part of the contract and still paying off the remainder of its balance because it was a gift to her), filing for divorce, taking a road trip to Ohio, meeting someone and hooking up with them, reconnecting with Paula my ex for a bit, and breathing a breath of fresh and free air. Three months after the divorce filing, it went forward uncontested without a peep from her. I could not care less about who and what she is about. From then on, I realized how toxic Paula was and decided to cut her out of my life too, I realized that I really needed to work on and focus on myself. I started taking relationships really slow and started really trying to cultivate friendship and the like instead of jumping into bed with them. I started working out and going to the gym 5 days a week. I paid off my car (after getting it fixed), and paid down 12k of debt my ex wracked up over the years on my credit card. Now I am in a relationship with someone and have been with them for about 7 months who I love and care about who is the total opposite of my ex wife. My partner is loving and caring, I feel comfortable communicating my feelings with her, and we both have clear boundaries on what we want in this relationship. Temptation is a bitch and luckily I know what I would be losing if Paula, or one of my old flings would contact me, and I have stayed away from them like Covid-19, I mean the plague (lol). I was not in my best place when I was with Courtney. I was a liar, a cheater, and did things for the wrong reasons. I own that. Everyday I have to contend with that. Everyday I have to know what I am capable of, but everyday I know what I risk if I indulge any of my more negative attributes. While some days are harder than others, I always come back to my partner, knowing full well that I am not cheating, or talking, or indulging anyone else, and that she has all my attention and all my heart. Courtney has not tried once to reconcile or talk to me yet, thankfully, and if she were to try she would get a staunch "No thank you." I did see her at Albert's daughter's bday party, where she was there for all of 5 minutes, pregnant with her new baby father's baby. She was astonished to see me and left soon thereafter, hopefully never to be seen again. In truth, I know I will probably see her at Albert's daughter's bday parties, graduations, and big life events for the rest of my life, which I am fine with because I have dealt with it all overcome all the feelings I had for her. I just want her away from me and my happiness and never to encroach on that again. Paul tried to get back into my life several times despite abandoning me after I tried to get into a relationship with someone else. After being at my worse and trying to find comfort. After I had found comfort and happiness with someone else. After I have moved on. I let her control my life and emotions for almost 10 years. Never again. My current partner is great and amazing and wonderful. And I am with someone who is great to me and makes me feel greater. She encourages me to seek happiness on my own and to always do and be better without her. I love her to death and hope that we continue on this good path we are on. As I turn thirty in a little more than a week, I just wanted to share this and my story and I want to emphasize something. I am not the hero of this story. I did a lot of shitty things on my own, in reaction to the shitty things Courtney did, or for no reason at all. I never truly took the time to find myself and figure out who and what I was, what I liked, and what I wanted to do. I was so focused on finishing school, getting a job, getting married, starting a family, that I never really sat down with myself and figured out who and what I was. I have had a lot of time to do that after the most traumatic thing in my life and I feel better off for it. For those of you thinking about marriage, or another relationship after a divorce, or just another relationship, I just encourage you to think about what makes you happy. Do you make yourself happy? Are you your best self right now? What can you do better for yourself right? If you cannot answer those questions with an enthusiastic yes, then I would say to deal with your own crap first and get to a better place, or the best place you can get to personally before involving someone else in your life. And when you do involve that person in your life, do not give up on bettering yourself. You should always make yourself your own priority. You should always focus on what you need to be happy first, and then focus on your relationship. Finding happiness solely in a relationship may lead to co-dependency which is not good nor healthy. Find happiness and fulfillment within yourself first and know that you can survive alone without anyone and you will make your future relationships that much better. Thank you for reading. Edit 1: TL:DR Married someone without figuring my own crap out lead to a terrible separation and divorce and forced me to change myself for the better.
Dear uber: stop offering me a “free snack” from subway at 4 in the morning. What kind of snack is a 20 oz soda anyway. Just give me more money (386 points, 106 comments)
